AIOLOS REED QUINTET

Named after Aeolus, the god of the winds in Greek mythology, the Aiolos Reed Quintet was founded in 2024 in the Rhine-Main region. The ensemble brings together five outstanding musicians from four nations: David Avendaño (Colombia), Julia Büttner (Germany), Naama Caspo Goldstein (Israel), Ivan Petrov (Bulgaria), and Regina Reiter (Germany).
With its unique instrumentation—oboe, clarinet, bassoon, bass clarinet, and saxophone—the quintet may at first glance recall the traditional woodwind quintet. However, thanks to the unifying element of the reed, the ensemble produces distinctive tone colors and blends that create a character all their own.
The quintet’s repertoire spans contemporary original works, arrangements of classical orchestral and piano pieces, and even popular music. The Aiolos Reed Quintet follows a clear artistic vision: to bring the richness and depth of the orchestral sound into the realm of chamber music, to inspire the creation of new works for this colorful yet still rare instrumentation, and to captivate a wide audience with its sonic possibilities—whether on the stage of prestigious concert halls or in unexpected, extraordinary venues.
GUTENBERG WINDS

Gutenberg Winds was founded in 2022 and is passionately dedicated to chamber music for wind instruments.Closely connected with the Mainz School of Music, the ensemble—under the name Gutenberg Harmonie—brings together professors, students, and alumni to showcase the rich variety and expressive power of this repertoire.
At the heart of the ensemble’s work lies the belief that great musical ideas can unfold their full impact even in a smaller setting—a conviction that Mozart himself once enthusiastically endorsed when he recognized the “marvelous effect” of this form of music. With joy in performance, precision, and a refined sensitivity to musical nuance, the ensemble presents works from the Classical and Romantic eras as well as modern compositions—offering chamber music intimacy that speaks directly to the listener.
